House Resolution 771 Needs Action Now

During the last few weeks, hundreds of Meso Foundation supporters sent letters to their Congressional Representatives and asked for their help in bringing H. Res. 771 “National Mesothelioma Awareness Day” up for a vote on the House floor. Thank you for responding to our call for help!

But our work is not yet done! We have been informed that currently H. Res. 771 is still not being considered for an up or down vote. Rep. Steny Hoyer of Maryland decides which bills make it to the floor for a vote and which don’t. Help us ensure that this resolution will be considered for a vote after the elections in November.

ACT TODAY:

1) Follow-up with your own House Representative by phone.

2) Ask him/her to contact Rep. Hoyer to ensure that H.Res 771 is given the opportunity to be voted on.

If you advocated at one of Foundation’s Symposia, contact the staff members of your Representative that you have met on Capitol Hill. This is a great opportunity to use those relationships.

To find your representative’s telephone information, you can visit their website or you can click here to run a search based on your address (scroll down to the bottom of the page to search based on your address).

Thank you for your help and please contact me if you have any questions!
